Project

A project to improve ecological balance in the region

A tree planting project is underway in and around the six educational institution campuses in the trust land in Rajapalayam. The afforestation project aims to improve ecological balance in the region, focusing on restoring degraded land, improving air quality, and increasing green cover.

Tree planting with the Miyawaki method

In the 12 months that have elapsed since the initiative started, many trees have been planted using the Miyawaki planting method. The local horticulture in charge oversaw the plantation work. Plants were grown with water lines until they grew to a healthy stage.

Rapid growth

The project has benefitted more than 7500 members, including students, teachers, and walkers. As a result, there is an observed improvement in the ecosystem’s biodiversity, with the plants attracting birds and butterflies.

Future directions

The goal is to plant trees over 146 acres of land.
