Ramco’s philosophy

Ramco’s philosophy towards disaster response has always been to rush to the affected areas and deploy our employees from nearby factory and marketing team to co-ordinate with the District Administration for providing immediate lifesaving essential relief materials and measures to the affected persons in the area. In fact, Ramco tracks the onset of events like cyclone in advance and the employees and the team of men, tools and equipments are planned beforehand.

This organization was tried and tested during the relief for cyclones Ockhi, Gaja, and the Covid 19 pandemic.

Types of emergency/disaster relief undertaken by Ramco

Cyclone and Flood relief work:

  • Ramco provides the following relief measures during disaster caused by cyclone in co-ordination with District Administration

  • Food packets, milk powder, rice bags, groceries and water bottles to the affected and stranded people immediately

  • Dress materials for adults and children, bedsheets, sleeping mats, mosquito coil, sanitary napkins, towels

  • Notebooks for children

  • Medical camp organised by our company doctor, medical team and distribute medicines to the people

  • We deploy heavy-duty dewatering pumps and operators to dewater flooded areas.

  • We deploy saw cutting machines, JCB and skilled manpower to clear fallen trees to restore road communication. We also co-ordinate with the Government Electricity department to clear and restore the fallen electricity poles.

Covid Pandemic relief work:

Ramco provided the following relief measures during Covid-19 Pandemic 1st and 2nd wave in co-ordination with District Administration:

  • Food packets, rice bags, groceries to the jobless and poor people in and around the factory and mines area.

  • We installed medical oxygen generator in our factory and supplied oxygen to Sivakasi, Aruppukottai and Sattur Government hospitals.

  • Covid relief materials donated to Odisha Government & Kerala government
