Project

Ramco Institute of Technology (RIT) was founded by former chairman Shri P. R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, in 2013, with a vision to provide high-quality, affordable, and world-class engineering education. The Principal, Prof. L. Ganesan manages the day-to-day activities of the Institute. The Chairman Governing Council Shri P.R. Venketrama Raja, Ramco Group Chairman provides support and guidance for the efficient running of thee Institution. The institute was established through Raja Charity Trust.

Ramco IT, excellence in engineering training

Led by its motto, “Vidhya Vindhathe Viryam” (“Knowledge empowers”), RIT prepares its students for lifelong learning and alignment with the changing trends in the industry. The Institute has focused on producing engineers worthy of employment. The Institute is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and offers 4-year undergraduate Engineering programs approved by AICTE. Students gain a strong academic foundation to pursue higher studies in destinations across the globe. In addition, students receive training to become successful entrepreneurs.

The Institute provides placement opportunities to students. In addition, several companies, including Ramco Cements, Ramco Systems, Kaar technologies, EmbedUR, Tessolve, Vuram Technology, Aspire Systems, Zoho, TCS, Wipro and Centizen, recruit from the RIT campus.

Certification and Accreditations

• The Institute is accredited by the NAAC and is certified by ISO 9001:2015.

• CSE, EEE, ECE Departments, and Mechanical Engineering courses are accredited by NBA.

Updates

New Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Lab

This project aimed to establish a Laboratory, a Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the Ramco Institute of Technology. The project’s primary focus was digital upskilling of students and staff. The lab would allow students to improve their computer skills and faculty members to engage in cutting-edge research. The facility design was in alignment with the curriculum requirement.

The laboratory was completed and is now ready for use. It will now provide hands-on training for RIT students and conduct technical training programs for students of other institutions and industry professionals. Finally, it will be a centre where internet-based government examinations and several competitive exams will be held.

Future directions:

• The goal is to develop the lab into a Center for excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences, in the coming years.
