Objectives
Ramco Balavidya Kendra was founded in 2011 by our former chairman Gurubhaktamani along with Shridharmarakshakar Shri. P.R.Ramasubrahmaneya Raja and Smt. R.Sudarsanam with the vision of creating a strong foundation for young minds. The school’s motto is “Roots to Fruits,” representing the school’s mission to nourish young minds holistically.
Research has shown that a child’s social and emotional development in the early years is the key to ensuring their future success in academics and life. Therefore, the child’s social and emotional growth is at the heart of the curriculum, integrated into every interaction the child has at school. A unique teaching-learning methodology has been developed and refined over these years, using the best practices in early years education.
Organisation of Ramco Balavidya Kendra
The Headmistress Mrs. V. Sudha Sankar of the school manages the day-to-day activities of the school. The Secretary of the school is Mr. N.K. Shrikantan Raja. The Headmistress in consulation with the Secretary manages the school affairs.
Features of Holistic education implemented for early years education:
-
The Dot Learning Circle Program: As of the 2021-22 academic year, we have adopted an experiential learning curriculum called The Dot Learning Circle Program. It helps every child build essential skills while building and expanding to embrace limitless potential.
-
Theme-based curriculum: Learning happens across eight integrated themes: Numeracy and Maths, Literacy and Phonics, Language and Communication, Environmental Sciences, Art and Creative Expression, Movement and Coordination, Health and Safety, and Social and Emotional learning. This helps make learning meaningful and contextually relevant.
-
Dynamic and custom-fit teaching methodologies: The lessons are hands-on, play-based and activity-based, taking into account the multiple intelligences of different children. The scope and sequence of the various learning areas have been planned based on the developmental learning trajectories of young children. Each class is assigned two teachers to maintain a good student ratio. An in-built progress tracking mechanism ensures that no child is left behind.
-
Community engagement: Parents learn about their child’s learning trajectory and knowledge path at the yearly PTA. Students also celebrate Annual day, where they stage performances for guests and parents.
Growth of Ramco Balavidya Kendra
The school has grown over the last 11 years from 180 students to its present strength of 760 students across nine sections of LKG and ten sections of UKG.
