Arsha Vidya Mandir (AVM) is a co-educational school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education offering education from Pre-Primary up to Higher Secondary classes.

Education at AVM aims at nurturing the human potential in its totality. Learning is not limited to intellectual excellence and performance in examinations but is meant to develop the motivation, joy and will to make learning and self-perfection a life-long endeavor.

Project-based learning, the integration of subjects, developing an aesthetic sense and exercising manual and motor skills, all these play a major role in the pedagogy at AVM.

The school adopts the basic curricular outlines for English & Languages, Sciences, Mathematics and Social sciences from the NCERT and augments the curriculum with programs in English Literature and the Arts, Fine arts and Performing Arts from the University of Cambridge.

Learning Experiences at Arsha Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School

  • At Arsha Vidya Mandir, a deep awareness towards the natural environment, ecosystems and their sensitive balance is developed among our school community, through the environment lectures, experiential learning and practicing organic farming principles, keeping ‘Sustainability’ as the goal. The solid waste generated at the school is segregated into eight categories and we strive to live by the values that we imbibe through the learnings from Garbology.

  • The school clubs namely, Debate, Photography, Dance and Chess offer opportunities to students of grades VI to XII to inspire them to learn and acquire the required skills in the chosen club.

  • Student driven committees enable students to take the lead and continuously share the several learnings that happen at school, to all the members of the school community.

  • The One-Book-All-Read program is offered to students with the purpose of generating the love of reading books and to develop language and creative mental activity. The author of the chosen books are invited to interact and engage with the students directly.

  • Importance to movement education is given at AVM, keeping the health and fitness of the students as the main objective. Students learn Aikido, Kalaripayatu, Gymnastics and Dance as part of these sessions, apart from the conventional individual and team sports. Personalised emotional counselling sessions are offered to students and teachers, who need them, to promote mental well-being among the school community.

  • Practicing self-reflections by students and teachers is part of the school’s culture, which engages individuals in a continuous learning process to improve themselves. High quality professional development sessions are offered to the teaching community to support teachers in developing their knowledge and the necessary skills, and to equip them to cater to the needs of the diverse learners. Collaborative Lesson Studies (CLS) carried by the teaching community offers opportunities to become educational researchers, reflective practitioners, and to work in teams to develop specific learning plans.

  • Parents are recognized as an integral part of our students’ overall development, and therefore their perspectives towards the learning opportunities offered by the school to their children are valued by the school. Clear communication, feedback and all the necessary information about our school programs are provided to the parents, through the various parent programs so that our parents feel secure, involved and develop a deep sense of belonging towards the school community.

  • Our aim is to offer a high quality learning experiences at an affordable cost and thereby make our educational programs accessible to all the members of the society. We hope that with this spirit of altruism, our contribution to education would make Arsha Vidya Mandir a model school and one that the Nation can be proud of.
