Eco Pro
EcoPro is based in Auroville and works towards sustainable management of natural resources, mainly of water and soil, in the context of agriculture and nutrition; health, hygiene and sanitation; and the management of wastewater and waste.
EcoPro is a dealer of the EM (Effective Microorganisms) products produced by Maple Orgtech, Kolkata.
We offer technical guidance in the use of EM products as well as in the above-said fields. We offer relevant educational programs for governmental and non-governmental staff, for pupils and students and for the general public.
From 2015 on, we have been engaged with Ramco for the improvement of municipal and solid waste management, i.e. in Ramco Textiles mills in Rajapalayam, in schools and colleges founded and managed by Ramco, and since 2018 increasingly in the Tamil Nadu factories of Ramco Cements.
From 2018 on, EcoPro’s rural development project in ST hamlets in the Kalrayan Hills has been financed by Ramco CSR funds. Although interrupted by the covid lockdown, the nutritional health of primary school children improved, rainwater harvesting measures on farmland were implemented, organic food crops were successfully produced, and several ecosan toilets were built and are all well used and maintained.
